I am part of different community projects here in San Diego and have formed a few group that I will be sharing more and more here as things pop up.
One group that I have help to create is Black Creatives Head Quarters, and we have been creating a community for Black Creatives and Creatives of Color to come together to learn from us and the resources that we have to share. Check out more blkcreativeshq.com .
Coming up in September we are hosting a Virtual Creatives Camp where we will have something for the whole family!! We are looking for presenters to bring their gifts and talents to teach others. Check out the information below to learn more.

2020 Black Creatives Camp Workshop Submissions
Who are we?:
Meet Black Creatives HQ
Black Creatives HQ is a communal effort that brings value and creates opportunities for Black creatives worldwide. Our team is carving out a new space to inspire and sustain creativity, empowered innovation and authentic support.
Black Creatives Camp
The inaugural Black Creatives Camp will take place September 19-20, 2020. This unique two day virtual event will provide a communal creative camp experience with fruitful resources for attendees to leave with. The Black Creatives HQ team has designed camp as a chance for the entire family to gain new skills, further their creative development, and connect with the melanated magic of the creative community.
Based on our available Camp Counselors and presentations we hope to offer workshops on subjects such as the ones below:
Art (Painting, graphics, etc)
Fashion (Models, designers, stylists, etc)
Makeup and Hair (for/by all)
Musical Artists (Singers, Rap, musicians, etc)
DJs & Producers
Poets
Fitness
Culinary (chef and bakers)
Marketing
Event planners
Green Rush (cbd/thc services)
Interior Design
Personal Coaching/Consulting (life coaches,business coaches, etc.)
Community Organizers
Becoming a Camp Counselor
Black Creatives HQ is calling for proposals from hosts, presenters, and talent to aid in bringing the Black Creatives Camp to life. For those interested in hosting a session on an above or other subject, there are several ways to be a leader for our camp attendees! Organizers have free control over the format, style, and building blocks of the workshop. From pre-recorded high production videos(we can help!), to live panels, to instruction lessons there are numerous opportunities to participate!
Proposals should focus on topics related to the above subjects. Should you have interest or expertise in a creative subject not listed above please feel free to still submit your proposal. Submissions must be entered via our Black Creatives Camp Workshop Submission form. The submission requests the following:
Contact Information: Your name, best method to be contacted, title, creative field, and social media if it is relevant to your proposal and you are comfortable sharing.
Length: 30 or 60 minutes total. This time frame should include time for Q&A if that is a part of your presentation.
Description: Using no more than 3 paragraphs, provide an overview of your topic, how you would like to present and why this is beneficial to the community.
Overview: Provide an outline of your presentation, i.e. an agenda or lesson plan.
Needs: Please make sure to include any special technical needs you or attendees may need for your presentation.

Great! Thank you for being a leader in the creative community! The Black Creatives HQ team will review submissions on a rolling basis. Many presenters will be notified prior to the submission closing and final notification dates.
Is this a paid gig? We are working to secure funding for Black Creatives Camp and hope to be able to pay our presenters a small stipend. More details will be shared with those selected.
