Monthly Brand Shout Outs and Product Favorites - March 2024

Last month I had the opportunity to check out quite a few brands that I am so excited to share with yall. In this monthly posting series, I hope to either introduce you to a new brand, or maybe you have heard of them before and find new items that you may want to check out and try yourself.

In March I had the opportunity to attend quite a few events in person and learn about brands both locally and globally.

One place that I had the chance to visit in, was Sugar Bears Sweet Provisions.

Sugar Bears is a bakery local here in San Diego that has tons of sweet treats, like cupcakes, cinnamon rolls and doughnuts. They also do custom cakes and make their own unique creations as well. Like for example, they have a Boozy Collection where they infused different liquors into their cupcakes. They also have gluten free and vegan options available, so there is a little something for all who love sweets. There are a couple of locations now in San Diego, and their newest location is in Downtown. I was able to attend the VIP opening and had the chance to taste a few of their cupcake options. Everything was so fluffy and delicious!!! I have been back since the grand opening and bought some cupcakes and desserts to share with my family and they loved it!!! If you are in the San Diego area or planning to visit… you can visit their website here (there are ordering options available). Visit their Downtown San Diego location at 518 6th Ave., San Diego Ca

If you have been following me for a while, then you know I am all about supporting community and finding people to support locally. One community that I love being part of, is the dance community. Before I started modeling and content creation… I pretty much lived in the dance studio. I danced my way through High School and College. As I got older as an adult, I had to push dance to the side, but I knew that it was something that I always wanted to come back to as some point. In March I found a collective called Ignite Initiative through a new friend that I just met recently. Ignite Initiative is geared towards adult dancers, which is often hard to find. They hosted a one day workshop that include Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Jazz Funk and Pom. Honestly I have not really trained in about 10 years, but it was fun to just throw myself back in and just have fun. I wanted to mention Ignite Initiative incase you are in San Diego and are looking for something fun to get into. They are having another workshop in June!!! You can follow them on Instagram @ignite.initiative to learn more and keep up with what they have coming up next.

RoC Skincare is a skincare brand that I had heard of, but had never used. I had a chance to work with RoC for an event that they had in San Diego during the #aad2024 meeting. There were all different dermatologists and doctors in town and it was fun to see the brands come together. After working the RoC Skin care event I was gifted with quite a few products from the line and I have had the chance to use a couple of things so far. One thing that I have been loving is the Multi Correction Revive + Glow Eye Balm and the Barrier Renew Gel to Foam Cleanser. I love that their formulas are gentle and help the skin thrive. Also, RoC is very affordable and are sold in places like Target. If you are looking for something clinically proven and dermatologist led this is product line is something good to try.

Trading Looks is another local brand that one of my friend’s is co owner of. They have a store in Little Italy San Diego, and have an amazing variety of different things to shop from gifts to clothing. They also have their own line sunglasses line which is what they are most known for. They have such a wide and fun variety that I don’t think I have ever seen when it comes to sunglasses. The styles are super edgy and fashion forward, which I absolutely love!! You can check out Trading Looks here online and you can shop in store at 2045 Kettner Blvd. Suite 101, San Diego Ca.

A friend of mine was a panelist at an event called Say So Events, which is a community that is women led and a safe space to express yourself. They lead different conversations with heard hitting topics to help you grow and thrive where ever you are in life on your journey. It was awesome to be in a room full of beautiful strong women that are doing amazing things to build their best selves. The event was at Cork & Stem, which is a really cute wine bar / flower shop in the Hillcrest San Diego area that has little bits and an area to hang out with your friends. It is perfect for a girls day or date night. They also have different events that they host as well. You can check out more about Say So Events here and Cork & Stem here

I had the chance to be on a panel at Closet Detox in March, talking about sustainability in fashion. Closet Detox itself is like an upscale garage sale, where people sell gently used items that can go to a new home. There are also small businesses as well that sale their goods and it is a great way to connect to different people in the fashion industry. I had been to Closet Detox before, but it had been a couple of years when it was first getting started. I am happy that I was invited to be part of it again. They do host an event a few times a year. You can follow them here and check out when their next event is.
