Memorial Day in Arizona

Memorial day weekend

Last weekend was pretty long and perfect for a short getaway!!!! I took a road trip with my parents to see my sisters in Arizona. They both decided to move there in the past 1 or 2 years and it was my first time visiting. My parents and I left on Friday and came back on Monday. We had family time of course, and did a little bit of exploring in the city. I have always heard that there's not much to do in Arizona, but ummm I found that there is actually a lot to see and do. I don't know what you people are talking about!!! Well... I guess it depends on which part you are in. We were in the Phoenix and Mesa area.

Check out my first family vlog and see what we got in to.

On the first day we went to Main Event Entertainment. It's like Dave and Busters, but there is a bowling alley and laser tag. I think it might be better than D&Bs actually.

On day 2 we explored downtown Phoenix and went to the capitol. It's kind of funny, that most people in the city aren't really out until later in the day. I really don't blame them... it's HOT!!! But, it wasn't as hot as I thought it would be. It was pretty bearable.

There's a section of downtown phx that is called Roosevelt Row. It is part of their arts district, and there are different paintings and wall murals created by different local artists. It was really cool!! There is so much talent out there!!

Since the capitol of Arizona is Phoenix... we thought it would be a good idea to check out their capitol building and check out some of the city's history. There were different memorials of past wars honoring the many veterans that have lost their lives and also memorials of important people and events in AZ. It was actually perfect, since it was memorial day weekend.

The Capitol Museum!!! It was closed when we were there, so we weren't able to go in. But, we did take a look around and they really do a great job of taking care of their buildings.

It was a fun quick trip!!! I will be back in Arizona for Christmas, so there will be more to see. We plan on visiting The Grand Canyon and possibly Sedona, so another adventure will be happening soon.

Side note: This is Sophie... If you watched my vlog you may have heard her barking in the background. She is my younger sister's dog. She literally barked the entire time we were there (insert eye roll). She is cute, but not very nice to everyone.

It was a fun weekend hanging out with the family and seeing the new city that my little sisters live in now. They seem to really like it out there, so I am happy for them!! :).
